Changes are afoot ...

Hey, friends -

The one thing that is constant in life is change. Big changes, little changes, changes you plan, changes you don't plan. And, like everything else, we can react randomly when they occur, or we can respond in a measured and controlled fashion.

Well, changes are happening in my life. My long-running (over three years) residency at a resort at Lake Tahoe has come to an end. It was a good run, marked by the fact that I didn't have to move all of my gear every night, and I didn't have to be constantly on the lookout for the next gig. Those two realities are my biggest challenge at the moment.

Having acknowledged those challenges, I'm excited for the future. I'm looking forward to playing at new places for new audiences, even while I refresh friendships with friends and followers that I've known for a long time.

Currently, I'm responding to this change by updating my online presence with new photos, new dates and venues, even as I am searching for work. In the first two weeks of my new reality, I will be playing at seven different venues over the next ten days, all within an hour of my house.

Eventually, my search will branch out to other areas, as I'm now free to travel  and explore new horizons.

If you have any ideas for me, whether you'd like to have me play at a party you're planning, or if you know a place where my music would be well received, I'd love to hear about it. Please drop me a note to let me know the name of the venue and the city it's in. It's super helpful if you pass on the name of the owner or manager so that I can personally reach out to them. I'm currently writing emails, making phone calls, and visiting venues to meet people and create relationships, and I'd love to hear from you.

In the meantime, keep your eyes on this space, as I will continue to keep my calendar updated here. I hope to see you somewhere soon, so I can sing you a song …
