Greetings, just a quick update …

After playing in the same place for so long (my over three-year residency at the Grand Lodge Casino finished at the end of September), I’m pretty excited to be getting out and playing some new places, and returning to some old favorites. I’ve been working on my website, doing some recording, looking for gigs, and dreaming of the possibilities …

In the interests of keeping it short, here’s what’s coming up in the next couple of weeks:

*******************************

This Thursday, October 30, I play at Gaviota’s in Incline Village. Hidden away inside Gus’s BBQ, this is becoming a real hot spot. 930 Tahoe Blvd. Incline Village, 8:00 – 11:00pm

Saturday, November 1, I trek out to Reno’s North Valley area to The 395 in Golden Valley. This is a really fun spot that features lots of different events and parties. In the Raley’s center, 1075 North Hills Blvd. Suite 220, Golden Valley, 7:00 – 10:00pm

Next week, on Wednesday, November 5, come check out Sierra St. Kitchen in downtown Reno and let me sing you a song. Featuring delicious small plates and a good wine list, the space is intimate and great place for a night of music. Park in the city garage across the street and get your ticket validated at the restaurant. 50 North Sierra St. in downtown Reno, 6:00 – 9:00pm

Friday, November 7 is a special debut performance at The Whisky Lounge in Midtown Reno. They’re introducing a new schedule of music and events, and not only will I be kicking it off, but I’ll be playing here twice a month for a while. Located in a legendary Reno location (part of the former Del Mar Station), and featuring the largest whisky library on the West Coast (over 1,800 bottles!!), this is a great place for a special night out with your buddies or your special person. 711 S. Virgina St. in Midtown Reno, 7:30 – 10:30pm

Finally, Saturday, November 8, join me for a night at Ceol Irish Pub in Reno. Dark and cozy, just like an Irish bar should be, I get to light the place up for a couple of hours. It’s my first time at this local favorite, and we’re sure to have a good time! 410 California Ave. Reno, 9:00 – 11:00pm

I hope you’ve checked out my new website, where I keep my calendar up-to-date, and I REALLY hope you’ve joined my mailing list so I can keep in touch once a month or so. I hope to see you soon!!

Changes are afoot ...

Hey, friends -

The one thing that is constant in life is change. Big changes, little changes, changes you plan, changes you don't plan. And, like everything else, we can react randomly when they occur, or we can respond in a measured and controlled fashion.

Well, changes are happening in my life. My long-running (over three years) residency at a resort at Lake Tahoe has come to an end. It was a good run, marked by the fact that I didn't have to move all of my gear every night, and I didn't have to be constantly on the lookout for the next gig. Those two realities are my biggest challenge at the moment.

Having acknowledged those challenges, I'm excited for the future. I'm looking forward to playing at new places for new audiences, even while I refresh friendships with friends and followers that I've known for a long time.

Currently, I'm responding to this change by updating my online presence with new photos, new dates and venues, even as I am searching for work. In the first two weeks of my new reality, I will be playing at seven different venues over the next ten days, all within an hour of my house.

Eventually, my search will branch out to other areas, as I'm now free to travel  and explore new horizons.

If you have any ideas for me, whether you'd like to have me play at a party you're planning, or if you know a place where my music would be well received, I'd love to hear about it. Please drop me a note to let me know the name of the venue and the city it's in. It's super helpful if you pass on the name of the owner or manager so that I can personally reach out to them. I'm currently writing emails, making phone calls, and visiting venues to meet people and create relationships, and I'd love to hear from you.

In the meantime, keep your eyes on this space, as I will continue to keep my calendar updated here. I hope to see you somewhere soon, so I can sing you a song …
